Bardo Collections opens its autumn season with a solo exhibition by architect and designer Thomas Egoumenides. A major highlight of the gallery's programme, the exhibition showcases a practice distinguished by its material rigor and deeply rooted in the realities and resources of Tunisia.

Based in Tunis for the past eleven years, Thomas Egoumenides has developed a practice in which raw materials become witnesses to the ecosystems that surround us. For this new body of work, the designer turns to discarded plastic from Tunisia's local manufacturing industry, a material that is both ubiquitous and emblematic of the environmental challenges faced by countries seeking sustainable models of reuse.

Through a patient process of experimentation, these industrial remnants are transformed into collectible furniture and sculptural objects of remarkable purity. The exhibition presents a strong artistic direction in which the raw force of recycled material meets rigorous functionality. Each piece, composed through a unique layering of colours and textures, challenges familiar perceptions while inviting reflection on our contemporary relationship with consumption, waste, and material resources.

"The design we champion emerges from an intimate dialogue with a place and its contradictions," says the gallery's artistic direction. With this exhibition, Bardo Collections reaffirms its role as a living platform, bringing together designers, architects, collectors, and audiences around a committed vision of contemporary collectible design.
