Aymen Mbarki's work with ceramics allows for exploration of new materiality and approaches to art and imagery. The three-dimensional nature of ceramics contrasts with the two-dimensionality of paper, enabling extension of lines into curves and across surfaces. His images draw inspiration from the linear figures of primitive art, depictions of animals, and symbols from early civilizations, incorporating elements from traditional Mediterranean and North African heritage in a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Each piece is uniquely handcrafted and adorned with Aymen Mbarki's distinctive black brushstrokes.
